For Schools: There’s a Student with Celiac Disease at My School. Now What?

Learning environment professionals must often simultaneously manage and provide accommodations for learners with a variety of different conditions, including celiac disease and the minimization of gluten exposure. This brief training video outlines key strategies to methodically provide for a safe learning environment for children with celiac disease.

Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the process to develop a 504 Plan or other type of management plan for a child with celiac disease.
  2. Explain how to identify specific roles for different members of the school health team.
  3. Identify at least two solutions to misunderstandings that may occur for a child with celiac disease in a learning environment.
